OBD-II fault code

U050E: Invalid Data Received From Wireless Accessory Charging Module B

What it means

A receiving module detected implausible data from wireless accessory charging module B (Qi pad in center console / armrest). Coil power or alignment values fail plausibility checks and are rejected.

How it works

Wireless accessory charging module B manages the second charging pad or channel identified by the vehicle and sends operating data to other modules. This code sets when a receiving module rejects data from module B as invalid; it does not alone establish a fault with the charging coil.

Common causes

Most likely first.

  1. Module internal fault or sensor input drift
  2. Software version mismatch after replacement
  3. Gateway module routing CAN messages incorrectly

Symptoms

  • Multiple warning lights may illuminate
  • Affected modules may go into limp mode or shut down
  • Specific functions inoperative depending on module
  • Diagnostic tools may show communication faults

How to diagnose it

  1. Scan all modules and save freeze-frame data to identify the reporting module and any accompanying communication or charging codes.
  2. Check the charging area assigned to module B with the accessory removed and repositioned, noting whether charging stops or warnings appear.
  3. Inspect module B's pad, connector, and accessible wiring for liquid ingress, debris, heat damage, corrosion, or looseness.
  4. Test module B's power, ground, and network connections using the manufacturer's procedure to rule out supply and wiring faults.
  5. Review live charging and alignment data, then verify software, configuration, and gateway routing for module B using vehicle-specific service information.

Common fixes

  • Clear debris or correct accessory positioning on the charging pad assigned to module B.
  • Secure or clean a loose or corroded connector at module B.
  • Repair damaged wiring or a poor power, ground, or network connection.
  • Correct a software, configuration, or gateway routing mismatch if indicated by the checks.
  • Replace wireless accessory charging module B if it continues to transmit invalid data after its connections and configuration are confirmed.

Can I keep driving?

Driving is generally safe if the only issue is the module B charging pad and no other safety warning is present. Stop using that pad if it overheats or shows physical damage.

A code shows where the control module detected a fault, not always which part failed. Check the causes in order and confirm with a test before replacing parts. Have several codes? Check them together

This is a generic code: it means the same on every make. The car’s maker may add more detail in its own service information.
