What it means
A receiving module detected implausible data from wireless accessory charging module A (Qi pad in center console / armrest). Coil power or alignment values fail plausibility checks and are rejected.
How it works
Wireless accessory charging module A manages the first charging pad identified by the vehicle and sends operating data to other modules. This code sets when a receiving module considers data from module A invalid; it does not by itself prove that the charging coil or a phone is faulty.
Common causes
Most likely first.
- Module internal fault or sensor input drift
- Software version mismatch after replacement
- Gateway module routing CAN messages incorrectly
Symptoms
- Multiple warning lights may illuminate
- Affected modules may go into limp mode or shut down
- Specific functions inoperative depending on module
- Diagnostic tools may show communication faults
How to diagnose it
- Scan all modules and record freeze-frame data to identify the reporting module and determine whether U050D appeared with communication or charging-system codes.
- Check whether the charging pad assigned to module A works and note any warning or charging interruption, removing the phone and case as a simple comparison.
- Inspect the pad, its connector, and accessible wiring for liquid damage, debris, loose connections, or signs of overheating.
- Check module A's power, ground, and network connections using the manufacturer's procedure, especially if other modules report communication faults.
- Compare live charging and alignment data with pad operation, then verify module software, configuration, and gateway message routing using vehicle-specific service information.
Common fixes
- Remove debris or a mispositioned accessory from the charging pad and retest module A.
- Secure or clean a loose or corroded connector at module A.
- Repair damaged wiring or a poor power, ground, or network connection.
- Correct module software, configuration, or gateway routing if the fault followed programming or component replacement.
- Replace wireless accessory charging module A if its wiring, supply, network, and configuration are correct but it still reports invalid data.
Can I keep driving?
This code usually affects the charging pad or related convenience functions, so driving is generally safe if no separate safety warning is present. Stop using the pad if it becomes unusually hot, smells burnt, or shows signs of damage.
A code shows where the control module detected a fault, not always which part failed. Check the causes in order and confirm with a test before replacing parts. Have several codes? Check them together
This is a generic code: it means the same on every make. The car’s maker may add more detail in its own service information.
