What it means
The control module detects an inlet pressure sensor B signal that is electrically plausible but outside the expected range for operating conditions. The cause may be the sensor, its pressure reference or wiring; this code alone does not identify a boost control fault.
At a glance
- Usually lights the check-engine light
- Affects emissions; the car can fail an emissions test
How it works
Turbocharger inlet pressure sensor B reports pressure at the turbocharger or supercharger inlet to the control module. P2375 sets when its electrical signal is present but does not agree with the pressure expected for the engine's operating conditions; this code alone does not prove a boost-control fault.
Common causes
Most likely first.
- Sensor element drifted
- Reference hose blocked or kinked
Symptoms
- Check engine light on
- Significant power loss / limp mode
- Possible blue or black smoke from exhaust
- Whistling or hissing sound from intake
How to diagnose it
- Use freeze-frame and live data to compare sensor B's reading with engine load, speed, and other available intake-pressure readings.
- Inspect sensor B's connector and wiring for damage, loose terminals, corrosion, or a poor ground that could distort an otherwise present signal.
- Check the sensor's pressure port and any reference hose for a kink, blockage, disconnection, or leak.
- Compare sensor B's reading under the manufacturer's test conditions with a suitable pressure reference or other specified check.
- If the pressure path and wiring are sound, test sensor B for drift or inaccurate response to the manufacturer's specification.
Common fixes
- Reconnect or replace a kinked, blocked, or damaged sensor reference hose as applicable.
- Clean and secure sensor B's connector or repair damaged terminals and wiring.
- Clear a blockage from the sensor pressure port using the manufacturer's procedure.
- Replace sensor B if its reading remains outside specification after the pressure path and circuit are verified.
Can I keep driving?
Avoid heavy loads if the vehicle has marked power loss, smoke, or an intake hiss, and stop if it runs poorly or smoke is heavy. Arrange diagnosis soon because inaccurate inlet-pressure readings can affect engine control and emissions.
A code shows where the control module detected a fault, not always which part failed. Check the causes in order and confirm with a test before replacing parts. Have several codes? Check them together
This is a generic code: it means the same on every make. The car’s maker may add more detail in its own service information.
