Pedestrian zone
Special regulation signs

Pedestrian zone

Marks an area reserved mainly for pedestrians, with vehicle access restricted by local rules and signs.

Enter with a vehicle only if the applicable restrictions allow it. Check entrance signs for permitted users, access times and other conditions.

Germany’s 242.1 uses a blue circular pedestrian symbol on a rectangular panel marked ZONE. Supplementary signs can permit other types of traffic.

How it looks in each country

Official sign in each country; the code is its number in the national rules. Signs that come in two directions show the left and the right version.
