Dead end

The road has no through route for vehicles, subject to any indicated exceptions.

You may need to turn back after reaching your destination. A route for pedestrians or cyclists may continue beyond the end of the road.

The common European design is a blue square showing a white road stem ending at a red crossbar. The United States’ W14-1 is a yellow diamond with a black border and the words DEAD END.

How it looks in each country
