National speed limits

Shows a summary of the country’s general speed limits, often on a sign near the border.

The board summarises general speed limits for the road types or vehicle categories shown. It is commonly placed near a border crossing, and specific limits may be signed along the route.

The design usually groups speed-limit symbols with symbols for different road types. Germany 393 is an information board for border crossings, while France C25a displays national speed limits at the border.

How it looks in each country

Official sign in each country; the code is its number in the national rules. Signs that come in two directions show the left and the right version.
