Maximum axle weight

Vehicles with an axle load above the figure shown must not pass.

The limit concerns the weight carried by an axle. Check each axle load, including the effect of the cargo.

A common European design shows an axle symbol and a weight figure inside a red-bordered circle. Poland uses B-19, while the US R12-2 is a white rectangular sign with black words stating the axle weight limit.

How it looks in each country

Official sign in each country; the code is its number in the national rules. Signs that come in two directions show the left and the right version.
