Prohibitory and restriction signs

No entry

Do not enter this road from this direction; the sign is often used at the exit end of a one-way street.

Do not enter the road from the direction facing the sign. It often marks the exit end of a one-way street, but can also prohibit entry at other locations.

The Vienna Convention model C,1a is a red disc with a white horizontal bar. The United States R5-1 places this symbol and the words DO NOT ENTER on a square white sign.

How it looks in each country

Official sign in each country; the code is its number in the national rules. Signs that come in two directions show the left and the right version.
