    Component
A NON-CONFORMITY IN AN INTERNAL COMPONENT COULD AFFECT DEPLOYMENT OF THE PASSENGER AIRBAG
    Defect
An internal component of the passenger's airbag triggering module may not conform to specification. This could affect the triggering of the device in the event of an impact.
    Remedy
On affected vehicles replace the passenger's air bag assembly
  5. Engine control unit fault may prevent restart

Reported April 6, 2016Model years 2011–2014DVSA recall R/2016/07435 vehicles affected

A fault in the engine control unit may make circuit voltage unstable, turn on a warning light and restrict motor power. The vehicle may not restart or the battery may not charge. The engine control unit will be replaced.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    ENGINE MAY NOT START
    Defect
Due to none conformity during manufacture the resistance of the insulated base inside the Engine Control Unit (ECU) which controls the electric motor may decrease. As a result the voltage in the circuit may become unstable causing the warning light to illuminate and the driving motor power to be restricted to the fail safe control. In the worst case scenario the vehicle may not be able to be restarted and the battery may not be able to be charged.
    Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the engine ECU.
  6. Motor control unit fault may restrict power

Reported August 13, 2015Model years 2011–2012DVSA recall R/2015/159EU Safety Gate A12/1527/1530 vehicles affected

A decrease in resistance inside the motor control unit could make circuit voltage unstable, illuminate a warning light and restrict motor power. The vehicle may not restart or the battery charge. The engine motor control unit will be replaced.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    LOSS OF POWER
    Defect
Due to none conformity during manufacture the resistance of the insulated base inside the motor control unit (MCU) which controls the electric motor may decrease. As a result the voltage in the circuit may become unstable causing the warning light to illuminate and the driving motor power to be restricted to the fail safe control. In the worst case scenario the vehicle may not be able to be restarted and the battery may not be able to be charged.
    Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the engine MCU.
  7. Vacuum pump may stop, reducing braking assistance

Reported October 7, 2014Model years 2010–2011DVSA recall R/2014/11998 vehicles affected

A fault in the brake servo pump system may trigger warning lights and sounds, then stop the vacuum pump. The driver may need to press the brake pedal harder to stop. The control software will be updated.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    BRAKING EFFICIENCY MAY BE AFFECTED
    Defect
The brake servo pump system could develop problems with malfunction indicator lamps and audible warnings accompanied by the vacuum pump stopping. This will require the driver to apply greater force on the brake pedal to stop the vehicle.
