Who is Perodua?

Perodua is a Malaysian carmaker whose name comes from Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua. Established in 1993, it was created to build practical cars for Malaysian drivers. Daihatsu has been a partner, providing technical support and helping transfer technology. Perodua’s range has long focused on compact cars suited to everyday driving.

Which Perodua models appear in Europe?

The models in this European line-up are the Kelisa, Kenari, Myvi and Nippa. The Nippa appears in 2001. The Kenari ran from 2001 to 2010, the Kelisa from 2002 to 2010, and the Myvi from 2006 to 2015.

These small cars offered different shapes and layouts. The Kelisa was a compact hatchback, while the Kenari had a taller, more upright profile. The Myvi brought a roomier hatchback shape to the range.

How did the range develop?

The Nippa and Kenari were part of Perodua’s early European line-up. The Kelisa followed, and the Myvi joined in 2006. The Kenari and Kelisa both ran through 2010, while the Myvi continued through 2015.

The Myvi recorded 3,370 EU registrations from 2010 to 2014. The Kenari recorded 78 in 2010, and the Kelisa recorded 26 that year.

Where were Perodua cars sold?

Perodua cars in this line-up appear in European Union and European Economic Area registration figures, as well as UK figures recorded by the Vehicle Certification Agency.
