    Defect
Possible reduced retention force of the Rear Door Child Lock switch.
    Remedy
Fit a countermeasure part into the child lock door switch aperture of all potentially affected vehicles.
  2. Passenger airbag inflator may rupture

Reported November 28, 2017Model years 2005–2013DVSA recall R/2017/226248,964 vehicles affected

Improperly manufactured propellant may cause the passenger airbag inflator to rupture and the airbag to deploy abnormally in a crash, increasing the risk of injury. The airbag assembly will be replaced.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    ABNORMAL DEPLOYMENT OF PASSENGER AIRBAG
    Defect
The subject vehicles are equipped with front passengerairbaginflators which could have been assembled with improperly manufactured propellant This could cause the inflator to rupture and the front passengerairbagto deploy abnormally in a crash. This could result in increased risk of injury to the occupant.
    Remedy
On affected vehicles replace the airbag with a new assembly.
  3. Wheels may lock when ABS is activated

Reported December 19, 2016Model years 2016DVSA recall R/2016/273197 vehicles affected

Contamination in the ABS actuator control unit may trap a valve and prevent the ABS from working as designed. In unusual driving conditions, wheels may lock and vehicle dynamics may be affected. The unit is inspected and replaced if necessary.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
WHEELS MAY LOCK IF ABS IS ACTIVATED
    Defect
It has been identified that due to a manufacturing issue the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) Actuator Control Unit may have contamination within it. When in use the contamination particle can migrate within the ABS unit and become trapped in a valve. In this condition the ABS may not operate as per design intent in the worst case when the ABS is activated under certain unusual driving conditions the customer may experience wheel lock and the vehicles dynamic behaviour would be adversely affected.
    Remedy
Recall all affected vehicles to inspect the ABS control unit and where necessary replace it with new component.
  4. Ignition coil fault may stall the engine

Reported February 22, 2016Model years 2015–2016DVSA recall R/2016/0084,020 vehicles affected

An ignition coil fault may cause a misfire and, in the worst case, a fuse failure that cuts power to the ignition relay. The engine could stall and fail to restart. The ignition coil will be replaced.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
ENGINE MAY STALL AND/OR FAIL TO RESTART
    Defect
The engine ignition coil may not be to the correct specification. The internal electrical components of the coil may short circuit resulting in an engine misfire. In the worst case this short circuit may cause a fuse inside the Power Distribution Module (IPDM) to fail stopping power to the ignition relay. In this condition the engine may stall and prevent the customer from being able to restart the engine.
    Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the ignition coil with new.
  5. Driver airbag inflator may rupture

Reported February 15, 2016Model years 2005–2011DVSA recall R/2015/256124,507 vehicles affected

If the driver airbag deploys, abnormal pressure may cause the inflator casing to rupture and scatter metal fragments. The driver airbag will be replaced when parts are available.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
DRIVERS AIRBAG MAY RUPTURE IF DEPLOYED
    Defect
In the event of drivers airbag deployment the internal pressure of inflator may increase abnormally and in an extreme case cause the drivers airbag inflator casing to rupture. In an extreme case this may cause a scattering of metal fragments.
    Remedy
Owners will be advised that their vehicle is affected by the recall and will be contacted again when parts are available and the driver's air bag will be replaced..
  6. Missing steering gear bearing may cause loss of control

Reported August 4, 2015Model years 2008DVSA recall R/2015/135EU Safety Gate A12/0872/1513,946 vehicles affected

A missing lower pinion needle bearing may allow the pinion to disengage from the steering gear, causing loss of steering control. The remedy is to inspect the rack and replace it where necessary.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL
    Defect
The lower pinion needle bearing may have been omitted during manufacture of the steering gear due to insufficient controls in the suppliers manufacturing process. It is possible the pinion may disengage from the steering gear with loss of steering control.
    Remedy
On affected vehicles inspect and where necessary replace rack.
  7. Push-start switch may cause the engine to stop

Reported August 4, 2015Model years 2013–2014DVSA recall R/2015/133EU Safety Gate A12/0850/1540,992 vehicles affected

The push-start switch may remain pressed after starting. If the vehicle is driven in this condition, the emergency engine stop function may stop the engine unintentionally. The switch housing will be inspected and modified if necessary.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
ENGINE PUSH START SWITCH MAY MALFUNCTION
    Defect
On affected models with a push start ignition switch the switch may remain in the pressed position and not return after switching the engine on. If the vehicle continues to be driven in this condition the emergency engine stop function may operate and cause the engine to unintentionally stop.
    Remedy
Inspect and where necessary modify the push start switch housing.
  8. Brake fluid contamination may reduce braking

Reported December 16, 2010Model years 2010DVSA recall R/2010/226138 vehicles affected

Mineral oil contamination may swell brake system seals and affect their sealing, requiring more force on the brake pedal and potentially increasing stopping distances. The system will be flushed and replenished with clean fluid.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    BRAKES MAY NOT PERFORM CORRECTLY
    Defect
It is possible that the vehicles brake fluid maybe contaminated with mineral oil. This can cause the seals within the system to swell and affect their sealing properties. This may require drivers to apply additional force to the foot brake and could increase stopping distances.
    Remedy
Recall affected vehicles to have the system flushed and replenished with clean fluid.
  9. Diesel particulate filter fuel connector may leak

Reported December 8, 2008Model years 2008DVSA recall R/2008/17490 vehicles affected

A connector in the diesel particulate filter fuel system may be incorrectly attached and leak fuel during filter regeneration. The connector will be checked and tightened as necessary.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
FUEL MAY LEAK FROM PARTICULATE FILTER
    Defect
It has been identified that a connector in the diesel particulate filter fuel system may not be correctly attached. If this is ignored fuel may leak from the connector during a particulate filter regeneration cycle.
    Remedy
Recalled vehicles will have the connector checked and tightened as necessary.
  10. Rear seat ISOFIX brackets may not perform as designed

Reported July 26, 2006Model years 2006DVSA recall R/2006/117338 vehicles affected

The rear seat ISOFIX brackets may not perform as designed in a side impact and may not meet required legislation. The affected seat brackets will be replaced.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
REAR SEAT ISOFIX BRACKETS MAY NOT PERFORM AS DESIGNED IN A SIDE IMPACT
    Defect
A concern has been identified with the rear seat ISOFIX brackets of some E11 Note vehicles. In that the brackets may have been manufactured incorrectly with the potential that the brackets may not perform to the design intent in the case of a side impact. In addition the brackets may not conform to the required EC legislation.
    Remedy
Recalled vehicles will have the subject seat brackets replaced.
