    Consequence
THE MAIN FUSE MAY BLOW OUT CAUSING THE ENGINE TO STALL AND INABILITY OF RESTART, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
    Remedy
DEALERS WILL HAVE THE ENGINE HARNESS INSPECT AND ADD A PROTECTOR CLIP ON THE AFFECTED SECTION OF THE HARNESS. IF NECESSARY, THE HARNESS WILL BE REPAIRED. THIS SERVICE WILL BE PERFORMED FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALL IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN ON MAY 6, 2009. OWNERS MAY CONTACT MAZDA AT 1-800-222-5500.

Reported April 8, 2008Model years 2006–2007DVSA recall R/2008/0507,930 vehicles affected

The number 4 engine mounting bolt may not be tight enough, which could cause the mounting to fail under sudden acceleration. The bolt will be checked and corrective action taken if its torque is outside specification.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
ENGINE MOUNTING MAY FAIL UNDER SUDDEN ACCELERATION
    Defect
It has been identified that the number 4 engine mounting bolt may not have been tightened to the correct torque during production. This could result in the engine mounting failing under sudden acceleration.
    Remedy
Recalled vehicles will have the mounting bolt checked for compliance. Should the torque on the subject bolt be found to be outside of the specification. The appropriate action as described in the technical instruction will be applied as necessary.
  54. Engine mounting bolt may loosen or fail

Reported July 19, 2007Model years 2006–2007DVSA recall R/2007/100430 vehicles affected

Repeated sudden acceleration may loosen the No. 4 engine mounting bolt. It could drop off and break, allowing the transmission to move out of position and, in the worst case, the driveshaft to detach and drive to be lost. Bolt torque will be checked and the bolt replaced with a modified version if needed.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    ENGINE MOUNTING BOLT MAY FAIL
    Defect
No 4 Engine mounting tightening bolt may loosen if a sudden acceleration is repeatedly carried out. If vehicle is continually used under such conditions No 4 mounting bolt may drop off and break allowing transmission to be out of position and in the worst case the driveshaft may detach resulting in loss of drive.
    Remedy
Recall affected vehicles to check mounting bolt torque and if necessary replace bolt with modified version.
  55. Engine mount bolt may loosen or break

Reported July 10, 2007Model years 2007NHTSA campaign 07V2950005,700 vehicles affected

Repeated sudden acceleration may loosen the No. 4 engine mount bolt. It could pull out or break, shifting the transmission; the drive shaft could detach, causing loss of power and a possible crash. Dealers will inspect and replace the bolt, and, if needed, the mount rubber and bracket free of charge.

    ENGINE AND ENGINE COOLING
    Defect
ON CERTAIN PASSENGER VEHICLES, THE NO. 4 LEFT SIDE ENGINE MOUNT BOLT MAY LOOSEN IF A SUDDEN RAPID ACCELERATION IS REPEATEDLY PERFORMED.
    Consequence
IF THE VEHICLE IS CONTINUOUSLY DRIVEN UNDER SUCH CONDITION, THE NO. 4 ENGINE MOUNT BOLT MAY LOOSEN AND PULL OUT OR BREAK, ALLOWING THE TRANSMISSION TO BE OUT OF POSITION. IN EXTREME CASES, THE DRIVE SHAFT MAY BECOME DETACHED. IF THIS OCCURS THE VEHICLE WILL LOSE POWER AND WILL COME TO A STOP, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
    Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND REPLACE THE NO. 4 ENGINE MOUNT BOLT WITH A MODIFIED ONE, AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE NO. 4 ENGINE MOUNT RUBBER AND BRACKET WITH NEW ONES FREE OF CHARGE. THE RECALLBEGAN ON JULY 13, 2007. OWNERS MAY CONTACT MAZDA AT 800-222-5500 .

  56. Floor mat may catch the accelerator pedal

Reported February 15, 2007Model years 2007NHTSA campaign 07V0520001,700 vehicles affected

Insufficient clearance may let the accelerator pedal catch behind the optional floor mat, preventing the vehicle from decelerating as expected when the pedal is released. Owners will return the mats to dealers and be sent a new floor mat free of charge.
