Reported August 27, 2013Model years 2012–2013DVSA recall R/2013/09198,208 vehicles affected

Fuel may leak at the injector spill rail and plastic return pipe connection, pool on the engine or reach the road and create a skid risk. If it contacts hot engine parts, an under-bonnet fire could occur. The connection will be inspected and the spill rail replaced with a modified part if needed.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    FIRE MAY OCCUR
    Defect
It is possible that a leak can occur between the injector spill rail connection and the plastic fuel return pipe. This can cause leakage of fuel which can either pool on the engine cylinder head and then become deposited onto the road surface where it could cause a skid risk to other motorist or if the fuel comes into contact with extremely hot engine components an exhaust manifold for instance it is possible that an under bonnet fire could ensue.
    Remedy
Recall all affected vehicles inspect the fuel spill rail/return pipe and if required replace the spill rail with a new modified rail.

    Component
    VISIBILITY:SUN/MOON ROOF ASSEMBLY
    Defect
LAND ROVER IS RECALLING 12,353 MY 2008 LR2 VEHICLES BUILT WITH A SUNROOF. FAILURE OF EITHER THE LEFT OR RIGHT HAND SIDE SUNROOF GUIDE RAIL CAN OCCUR WHEN THE SUNROOF IS OPERATED. EXCESSIVE STRESS CAN DEVELOP IN THE OVER-MOLDED BRACKET WHICH COULD LEAD TO CRACKING DURING NORMAL SUNROOF OPERATION. IF CRACKS OCCUR AND PROPAGATE IN A CERTAIN AREA OF THE GUIDE RAIL, FRAGMENTS OF THE PLASTIC OVER-MOLD MATERIAL MAY DETACH FROM THE GUIDE RAIL AND OBSTRUCT THE OPERATION OF THE SUNROOF.
    Consequence
THE OBSTRUCTION COULD CAUSE THE SUNROOF, WHEN OPERATED, TO BIND, TWIST, AND POTENTIALLY DETACH FROM THE OPERATING MECHANISM. IF THE SUNROOF IS SUBSEQUENTLY CYCLED AND A VERTICAL FORCE APPLIED, I.E., A CUSTOMER MANUALLY AIDING THE ROOF TO CLOSE OR WIND LIFT, THE GLASS PANEL CAN BECOME FULLY DETACHED FROM THE VEHICLE, INCREASING THE RISK OF INJURY.

Reported January 12, 2005Model years 2003DVSA recall R/2004/165129 vehicles affected

An incorrectly sized weld nut may prevent a subframe fixing bolt from being installed. Without the bolt, the subframe could crack or deform, potentially making the vehicle unstable. The fix is to inspect the fixing and clamping; if incorrect, repair the body panel with a new weld nut.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
INCORRECT NUT INSTALLED INTO REAR SUBFRAME
    Defect
M12 weld nuts has been incorrectly installed by a body panel supplier into the rear subframe mountings instead of the correct M14 weld nuts. A bolt that locates the frame to the body did not fit into this nut and was not installed at the vehicle assembly plant. Lack of this bolt could eventually cause the subframe to crack and become deformed. A deformed subframe could potentially lead to instability of the vehicle.
