  1. Gear shift indicator may not display

Reported January 4, 2019Model years 2015–2018DVSA recall R/2018/3823,272 vehicles affected

The gear shift indicator may fail to display in certain driving conditions. Its software will be upgraded.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
GEAR SHIFT INDICATOR MAY NOT BEHAVE AS INTENDED
    Defect
The gear shift indicator may not display under specific driving conditions.
    Remedy
Upgrade the gear shift indicator software.
  2. Driver airbag may deploy unintentionally

Reported January 2, 2018Model years 2016–2017DVSA recall R/2017/2939,940 vehicles affected

If the spiral cable is damaged and the airbag warning light is ignored, electrostatic charge could trigger unintended driver airbag deployment. A slip ring will be fitted to the steering column.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    DRIVER'S AIRBAG MAY DEPLOY
    Defect
The steering column has no electrical connection to ground other than the spiral cable. In the event that the spiral cable is damaged the airbag warning light will illuminate. If the customer ignores the warning light and continues to drive for extended periods electrostatic charge may be discharged through the electrical circuit of the drivers airbag. In an extreme case this discharge could be sufficient to trigger an unintended deployment of the driver airbag.
    Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and fit a slip ring to the steering column on all potentially affected vehicles.
  3. Airbag control unit may be configured incorrectly

Reported April 30, 2017Model years 2015–2017DVSA recall R/2017/08316 vehicles affected

In some circumstances, an incorrectly configured airbag control unit may prevent the restraint system from working as intended in a crash. The unit will be reprogrammed with the latest software.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
SUPPLEMENTARY RESTARINT SYSTEM MAY NOT ACT AS INTENDED.
    Defect
In certain circumstances the Airbag Control Unit (ACU) may not be correctly configured. This may cause the Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) not to perform as intended in the event of an accident.
    Remedy
On affected vehicles reprogram with latest ACU software
  4. Passenger airbag may not deploy

Reported February 1, 2017Model years 2016DVSA recall R/2016/3016 vehicles affected

An inflator initiator may be out of specification, so the passenger airbag may not deploy in a crash. Affected airbags will be replaced with a quality assured component.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY CORRECTLY
    Defect
It has been identified that due to a manufacturing error at the airbag manufacturer the chemical composition of the initiator (the compound that triggers the airbag deployment) of a limited number of passenger airbag inflators may not be to specification. Therefore it is possible that an affected airbag may not deploy in the event of an accident.
    Remedy
Recall all affected vehicles to have the affected airbags replace with a new quality assured component.
  5. Front seat belt may not restrain passenger

Reported December 12, 2016Model years 2015–2016DVSA recall R/2016/228566 vehicles affected

A front seat belt may be fitted on the wrong side, making it difficult to use or slow to retract. In an extreme case, it may not restrain the passenger. The front seat belts will be replaced where necessary.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
ANCHORAGE POINT MAY BE INCORRECTLY POSITIONED AND MAY NOT RESTRAIN THE PASSENGER
    Defect
Some vehicles may have an incorrectly assembled front seat belt with the right hand seat belt fitted on the left hand side or vice versa. This could cause the seat belt upper anchorage to be used at an incorrect angle; making it difficult for the customer to apply the seatbelt or slowing the retraction speed when removing the belt. In an extreme case the front seat belt may not restrain the front seat passenger.
    Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and where necessary replace the front seat belts.
  6. Rear seat belt buckle nuts may come loose

Reported December 12, 2016Model years 2015–2016DVSA recall R/2016/2274,500 vehicles affected

Rear seat belt buckle nuts may not be secure and could come off, leaving the belts unable to restrain passengers. Dealers will tighten the buckle nuts to the correct torque if needed.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
REAR SEAT BELT MAY NOT SECURE THE PASSENGER
    Defect
The rear seat buckle nuts may not be fully secure. In this condition the seat belt buckle may make a rattle noise. In an extreme case the nut may come off and the rear seat belts will not restrain the rear seat passengers.
    Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and where necessary torque the rear seat belt buckles nuts.
