  1. Driver airbag may fail to deploy

Reported June 23, 2017Model years 2016DVSA recall R/2017/1652 vehicles affected

The airbag inflator initiator may not ignite when deployment voltage is applied, so the driver airbag may not deploy in a crash when needed, increasing the risk of injury. The remedy is to replace the driver airbag unit with a quality assured unit.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
DRIVER AIRBAG MAY FAIL TO DEPLOY
    Defect
The drivers airbag was manufactured with an incorrectly manufactured airbag inflator initiator that may not ignite when a deployment voltage is provided to the initiator. As a result vehicles may experience a non-deployment of the driver airbag during a crash event warranting an airbag deployment which could increase the risk of injury.
    Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the driver airbag unit (initiator included) with a quality assured unit.
  2. Passenger airbag may reactivate unexpectedly

Reported March 31, 2015Model years 2014DVSA recall R/2015/03548 vehicles affected

After the passenger airbag is deactivated, quickly cycling the ignition off and on may reactivate it and switch off its warning light. The airbag control unit will be replaced.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    UNINTENDED AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT
    Defect
Following deactivation of the passenger airbag via the dashboard menu with the ignition on the passenger airbag may be reactivated following a fast cycling (less than 2 seconds) of the ignition key (on-off-on). The passenger airbag deactivation warning light would also have been switched off but the driver may not notice. In a collision and in certain conditions an unintended airbag deployment may contribute to a loss of further control or injury to driver and/or passengers.
    Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and replace the airbag control unit.
  3. Brake servo pipe connector may fail

Reported December 7, 2012Model years 2012DVSA recall R/2012/13915,475 vehicles affected

A brake servo pipe connector may fail and reduce vacuum assistance, so the driver may need to apply more effort when braking. The remedy is to fit a new brake servo pipe.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component

    Defect
A connector on the brake servo pipe may fail and cause a loss of vacuum assistance necessitating the driver to include additional effort when braking.
