Sunroof glass may detach from its frame
The sunroof glass assembly may detach from the outer frame. The sunroof assembly will be replaced.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- ADHESIVE USED TO FIX SUNROOF GLASS ASSEMBLY TO OUTER FRAME MAY NOT BE TO CORRECT SPECIFICATION
- Defect
- There is a possibility that the sunroof glass assembly could detach itself from the outer frame
- Remedy
- Replace the sunroof assembly.
Water ingress may jam the windscreen wiper motor
Water may enter the wiper motor and cause corrosion and jamming, so the wipers may stop working or fail to start, restricting visibility. The motor and one mechanism rod will be replaced.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- WATER INGRESS MAY CAUSE WINDSCREEN WIPER MOTOR TO FAIL
- Defect
- On the affected vehicles the windscreen wiper motor breather system may not be To the correct specification. This could in some cases result in water ingress leading to jamming of the motor due to corrosion. This could cause the wipers to cease operation or not start which in turn could result in restricted visibility for the driver.
- Remedy
- Replace the windscren wiper motor and one of the windscreen wiper mechanism rods.
Electronic fault may affect vehicle functions
A component in the built-in systems interface may be out of specification, causing the audio-navigation system, wipers or exterior lighting to malfunction and a warning light to illuminate. The unit will be checked and replaced if its production date is in the affected range.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- MALFUNCTION CAUSING INSTRUMENT PANEL FUNCTIONS TO BECOME INOPERABLE
- Defect
- An electronic component within the Built-in Systems Interface (BSI) may not be to the correct specification. This could cause the audio-navigation system the wipers and exterior lighting to malfunction and the warning light on the instrument panel may illuminate.
- Remedy
- Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and check the production date of the BSI unit. Where the production date of the BSI unit is in the affected range the unit will be replaced.
Engine drive belt may come off the pulleys
Idler pulleys may wear at an angle and force the engine drive belt off, potentially depleting the battery, causing overheating and increasing steering effort on vehicles with hydraulic power steering. The belt will be replaced and the idler pulleys checked and replaced if needed.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- LOSS OF POWER STEERING ASSISTANCE
- Defect
- Due to the type of material used for the engine drive belt the nylon idler pulley(s) may wear at an angle. With continued use under this condition the drive belt will be forced off the pulleys. This can lead to battery depletion Overheating and on vehicles with hydraulic power steering the steering effort will increase.
- Remedy
- Replace engine drive belt. Check and if necessary replace idler pulley(s).
Brake lights may fail and drive belt may malfunction
Contaminated brake light switch contacts may prevent the lights from working when the pedal is pressed. The drive belt may also fail, affecting steering assistance, battery charging and air conditioning. The switch and harness will be serviced, and the belt and, if needed, tensioner rollers replaced.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- BRAKE LIGHTS MAY NOT OPERATE AND DRIVE BELT MAY NOT PERFORM CORRECTLY
- Defect
- Brake light switch contacts may become contaminated and the switch may not operate the brake lights when the brake pedal is depressed. Ancillary drive belt may fail affecting steering assistance battery charging and air conditioning operation.
- Remedy
- On affected vehicles; replace brake light switch and clean switch harness; Replace drive belt and if necessary belt tensioner rollers
Brake lights may not illuminate
Contaminated brake light switch contacts may prevent the brake lights operating when the pedal is pressed. The switch will be replaced and its harness cleaned.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- BRAKE LIGHT MAY NOT ILLUMINATE
- Defect
- Brake light switch contacts may become contaminated and the switch may not operate the brake lights when the brake pedal is depressed.
- Remedy
- Replace brake light switch and clean switch harness on affected vehicles .
Seat wiring may overheat if exposed to moisture
Unused front-seat power connectors under the rear footwell carpets may corrode if exposed to water, melted snow or de-icing agents, causing localised electrical overheating. The wires will be repositioned higher on the seat frame.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- SHORT CIRCUIT MAY OCCUR
- Defect
- On affected vehicles connectors intended to supply the electric front seats fitted to some versions are not used and are located under the rear footwell carpets. If these connectors come into contact with water of melted snow and de-icing agents they may corrode over a period of time and cause localised electrical overheating.
- Remedy
- The operation involves repositioning these electrical supply wires for the two front seats to move them higher up on the seat frame.
Brake servo valve may reduce assistance
A faulty brake servo valve may reduce braking assistance, although the brakes remain operational. The valve will be replaced.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- BRAKING ASSISTANCE MAY BE AFFECTED
- Defect
- It has been identified that due to incorrect operation of the brake servo valve the effectiveness of the assistance provided could be reduced. It should be noted that the brake function remains in operation.
- Remedy
- Recalled vehicles will have the subject valve replaced.
Diesel return pipe may abrade and leak
The diesel return pipe may wear through and leak fuel. The pipe will be inspected; if damaged, it will be replaced, and if undamaged, reinforcement will be fitted.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- POSSIBLE LEAKAGE FROM THE DIESEL RETURN PIPE FIXED TO THE INTAKE MANIFOLD.
- Defect
- It has been identified that the diesel fuel return pipe which is fixed to the inlet manifold may be abraded to the extent that if left undetected will leak.
- Remedy
- Recalled vehicles as a preventative measure will have the pipe inspected for damage. If any is found the pipe will be replaced. In cases where the pipe remains undamaged it will be fitted with reinforcement.
