  1. Rear light seal may allow water into electrical components

Reported July 1, 2026Model years 2026DVSA recall R/2026/26228 vehicles affected

A missing seam seal near the right rear light may let water into the trunk and reach wiring and electrical components, causing corrosion or failure; a thermal event cannot be ruled out. The seam will be checked and reworked if needed.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
Reworking the PVC Seam in the Rear Light Housing
    Defect
The safety recall relates to a PVC seam seal defect which may have occurred in the body area of the right real light housing. It is possible that seam sealant was not applied to a panel overlap area this may result in water ingress into the vehicle in the area of the right rear light. If water does enter the trunk in the area of the right rear light it may result in water ingress onto the exposed power distribution box as well as adjacent wiring harnesses and electrical components. It cannot be reliably excluded that electrical contacts may be affected particularly due to capillary effects. In this case moisture ingress and the resulting long-term corrosion may lead to increased contact resistance as well as functional degradation or failure of individual electrical components. Over the service life a thermal event cannot be completely ruled out.
    Remedy
On the affected vehicles the PVC seam will be checked and if necessary reworked.
  2. Starter motor relay may short circuit

Reported March 2, 2026Model years 2020–2024DVSA recall R/2026/054EU Safety Gate SR/00569/2651,053 vehicles affected

Deposits in the starter motor relay may increase contact resistance, causing failed starts or a short circuit that could lead to a thermal event. The starter motor will be replaced with a different design.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    Replace the Engine Starter Motor
    Defect
The Safety Recall relates to the engine starter motor. The fault relates to the RSW22 starter RWT (reinforced water tightness). It was found that with RWT starters an increased abrasion of the magnetic contact can cause the growth of deposits at the lowest point of the relay interior. This in turn may increase the relay contact resistance resulting in false starts or even causing short circuits and possibly a thermal reaction. In case of a short circuit the possibility of a thermal event cannot be excluded. This may happen while attempting to start the vehicle or while driving due to vibrations causing a short circuit due to moving deposits.
    Remedy
On the affected vehicles the starter motor will be replaced with a variant by another supplier with a different design. Until the repair has been completed it is recommended to not leave the vehicle running unattended after starting the engine.
  3. Rear lights may not function properly

  4. Starter relay may overheat and cause a fire

    Reported January 30, 2026Model years 2020–2024EU Safety Gate SR/00551/26

Wear in the starter relay may leave deposits that increase contact resistance, potentially causing accidental ignition or a short circuit. This may lead to overheating and fire. The recall remedy is to recall the product from end users.

    Official EU Safety Gate text
    Component
    Fire
    Defect
The failure concerns the RSW22 starter, type RWT (reinforced for watertightness). Increased abrasion of the magnetic contact can lead to the formation of deposits at the lowest point of the relay interior. This in turn can increase the resistance of the relay contact, causing accidental ignition or even short circuits, possibly leading to a thermal reaction and fire. The product does not comply with the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles.
    Remedy
Recall of the product from end users
