What it means
The vehicle bus reports loss of communication with smart A/C refrigerant distribution valve actuator C. Routing of refrigerant between cabin / battery / power-electronics chillers cannot be commanded.
How it works
A/C refrigerant distribution valve actuator C is a networked component that routes refrigerant between the thermal circuits present on the vehicle, such as cabin and battery or power electronics chillers. The control system monitors its messages so it can command the valve's routing. U062C sets when actuator C stops communicating, preventing that control.
Common causes
Most likely first.
- Bus wiring open or shorted
- Module without power or ground
- Module failed
Symptoms
- Multiple warning lights may illuminate
- Affected modules may go into limp mode or shut down
- Specific functions inoperative depending on module
- Diagnostic tools may show communication faults
How to diagnose it
- Scan all modules and note event data and affected thermal-system warnings to see whether actuator C loss coincided with other communication faults.
- Check live data and command status for distribution valve actuator C, comparing other valve actuators if fitted.
- Inspect actuator C's connector and accessible bus wiring for loose pins, corrosion, moisture, or physical damage.
- Check actuator C's power and ground against the manufacturer's specification, following vehicle-specific high-voltage precautions.
- Test the communication wiring for opens or shorts using the wiring diagram and manufacturer's procedure.
Common fixes
- Secure the connector or repair damaged communication wiring at actuator C.
- Restore the actuator's power or ground supply.
- Repair an open or short in actuator C's network circuit.
- Replace actuator C if its power, ground, and network connections are verified but communication is still absent.
Can I keep driving?
Depending on the vehicle, loss of actuator C can affect cabin cooling or battery and power electronics cooling, and may trigger reduced power or shutdown of affected functions. Follow any thermal-system warning and stop if the vehicle signals an unsafe condition.
A code shows where the control module detected a fault, not always which part failed. Check the causes in order and confirm with a test before replacing parts. Have several codes? Check them together
This is a generic code: it means the same on every make. The car’s maker may add more detail in its own service information.
