Steep descent

A steep downhill section is ahead; use a suitable gear and control your speed.

Slow down before the descent and select a gear that helps control your speed. Where a percentage is shown, it describes the gradient.

A common triangular design shows a black slope descending from left to right, often alongside a percentage. Poland’s T-9 is a supplementary plate giving the actual gradient.

How it looks in each country

Official sign in each country; the code is its number in the national rules. Signs that come in two directions show the left and the right version.
