Warning signs

Road narrows

The road becomes narrower ahead, on both sides or on the side shown by the sign.

Reduce speed and allow room for other road users as the available width decreases. Follow the road markings through the narrowing.

Symbolic designs show the road edges drawing closer together. The United States’ W5-1 is a yellow diamond bearing the words ROAD NARROWS, while Australia’s W4-3 uses a black narrowing-road symbol on a yellow diamond.
