Distance plate

Shows the distance to a hazard, an object or the place where the main sign’s rule begins.

The plate gives the distance from the sign to the place indicated ahead. It is usually rectangular and mounted directly below the main sign.

Poland’s T-1 gives the distance from a warning sign to the hazard. Germany’s 1004-30 gives a distance in metres. Ukraine’s 7.1.1 and Russia’s 8.1.1 can indicate the distance to a hazard, the start of a restriction or an object ahead.

How it looks in each country

Official sign in each country; the code is its number in the national rules. Signs that come in two directions show the left and the right version.
