This sign prohibits vehicles carrying specified explosive or easily flammable substances. The cargo types and quantities covered depend on national rules.

A common design is a red-bordered circle containing a vehicle and an explosion or flame symbol. The UK’s 622.8 concerns vehicles carrying explosives. Germany’s 261 and Sweden’s C9 cover dangerous goods requiring special vehicle markings.
