Give way to oncoming traffic
Priority signs

Give way to oncoming traffic

At a narrow section, give way to vehicles coming towards you and proceed when there is room.

Give way before entering a narrow section where vehicles cannot easily pass each other. Wait if entering would force an oncoming vehicle to stop. The sign faces drivers approaching from the direction that must give way.

The Vienna Convention model B,5 is circular, with a red border and a white or yellow background. Its red upward arrow represents your direction; the black downward arrow represents oncoming traffic with priority.

How it looks in each country

Official sign in each country; the code is its number in the national rules. Signs that come in two directions show the left and the right version.
