    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    ABS/ESC SYSTEM MAY FAIL
    Defect
On vehicles with ABS/ESC the earth connection may be interrupted. This may cause failure of the ABS/ESC system
    Remedy
On affected vehicles install new software. Where necessary a new ABS/ESC control unit will be fitted.
  3. Airbags or seat belt pretensioners may not trigger

Reported March 22, 2017Model years 2016DVSA recall R/2017/07931,032 vehicles affected

A manufacturing error may prevent an airbag or seat belt pretensioner from triggering in a collision. The airbag assembly and seat belt pretensioner will be replaced where necessary.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
AIRBAG/BELT TENSIONERS MAY NOT TRIGGER IN EVENT OF AN ACCIDENT
    Defect
Due to an error in the manufacturing process the air bag and/or seat belt pretensioner may not trigger in the event of a collision
    Remedy
On affected vehicles replace air bag assembly and seatbelt pretensioner where necessary.
  4. High-pressure fuel pipes may leak

Reported December 15, 2011Model years 2009–2011DVSA recall R/2011/169202,314 vehicles affected

Faulty material may cause leaks from the high-pressure fuel pipes over the vehicle's service life. Anti-vibration balance weights will be fitted to the pipes.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    FUEL MAY LEAK
    Defect
On 2.0l Common Rail engines of a limited production period faulty material can cause leaks on the high pressure pipes during the service life of the vehicle.
    Remedy
Anti-vibration balance weights will be fitted on the high-pressure pipes.
  5. Clutch may open unexpectedly and cut drive

Reported December 14, 2009Model years 2008–2009DVSA recall R/2009/11024,598 vehicles affected

The clutch temperature may be interpreted incorrectly, causing the clutch to open unexpectedly and drive to be lost. The gearbox control unit will be updated or reprogrammed.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
CLUTCH MAY OPERATE INADVERTENTLY WITH UNEXPECTED LOSS OF DRIVE
    Defect
In rare cases an incorrect interpretation of the clutch temperature can occur which results in the clutch opening unexpectedly with loss of drive.
    Remedy
Recall affected vehicles and update/reprogramme gearbox control unit.
  6. Fuel tank may crack and leak

Reported November 18, 1991Model years 1987–1988NHTSA campaign 91V20100051,000 vehicles affected

A crack may develop near a rear fuel tank seam weld, allowing fuel to leak and potentially catch fire if it contacts an ignition source. The tank will be checked with a specially designed tool and replaced if a crack is found.

    Official NHTSA recall text
    Component
    FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:STORAGE:TANK ASSEMBLY
    Defect
A CRACK CAN DEVELOP IN THE FUEL TANK ADJACENT TO A SEAM WELD IN THE REAR OF THE TANK.
    Consequence
FUEL CAN LEAK FROM THE CRACKED FUEL TANK WHICH COULDCATCH FIRE IN THE PRESENCE OF A SOURCE OF IGNITION.
    Remedy
CHECK VEHICLE WITH A SPECIALLY DESIGNED TOOL FOR THE PRESENCE OF A FUEL TANK CRACK, AND REPLACE FUEL TANK IF DEFECT IS FOUND.

  7. Fuel pump may seize and interrupt fuel supply

Reported April 14, 1987Model years 1985–1987NHTSA campaign 87V053000278,520 vehicles affected

At high ambient temperatures, a fine-mesh fuel filter may restrict fuel flow and cause the in-tank fuel pump to seize. The interrupted fuel supply could stall the engine. Install a modified fuel pump and filter.

    Official NHTSA recall text
    Component
    FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP
    Defect
FUEL PUMP, LOCATED INSIDE FUEL TANK, COULD SEIZE DURING HIGH AMBIENT TEMPERATURES BECAUSE OF AN EXTREME FINE MESH FUEL FILTER RESTRICTING THE FUEL FLOW.
    Consequence
FUEL SUPPLY TO ENGINE WOULD BE PARTIALLY INTERRUPTED,RESULTING IN STALLING.
    Remedy
INSTALL A MODIFIED FUEL PUMP AND FILTER.

  8. Fuel pump may fail in high temperatures

Reported July 18, 1985Model years 1985NHTSA campaign 85V09000020,560 vehicles affected

In high temperatures, the fuel pump may fail and interrupt fuel supply, causing the engine to stall and creating a traffic hazard. A modified fuel pump, hose and clamps will be installed.

    Official NHTSA recall text
    Component
    FUEL SYSTEM, GASOLINE:DELIVERY:FUEL PUMP
    Defect
THE FUEL PUMP LOCATED INSIDE THE FUEL TANK COULD FAIL DURING HIGH AMBIENT TEMPERATURES. THIS FAILURE IS CAUSED BY BEARING TOLERANCES WHICH DO NOT ACCOMMODATE TEMPERATURE EXPANSIONS. CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: IN THE EVENT THAT THE FUEL PUMP FAILS, IT WILL INTERRUPT THE FUEL SUPPLY TO THE ENGINE, THE VEHICLE WILL STALL AND COULD CAUSE A TRAFFIC HAZARD ON THE HIGHWAY.
    Remedy
A MODIFIED FUEL PUMP, HOSE AND CLAMPS WILL BE INSTALLED.
