Engine emissions control may exceed NOx limits
The lambda control may not keep NOx emissions within limits over the vehicle’s lifetime. The engine management software will be upgraded.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- THE LAMBDA CONTROL MIGHT NOT BE ROBUST/PRECISE ENOUGH AT HIGH SPEED
- Defect
- lambda control may result in NOx limit being exceeded during the vehicle lifetime.
- Remedy
- An engine management system software upgrade will be installed.
Sunroof glass may lose adhesion
A supplier printing process issue may reduce adhesion over the vehicle's lifetime, allowing the glass roof to become insecure. Additional fixation will be added to secure it as an interim measure.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- SUNROOF GLASS MAY DETACH
- Defect
- A deviation in the supplier manufacturing printing process caused a high viscosity in the black print which might lead to a loss of adhesion over vehicle lifetime.
- Remedy
- Until such time a final remedy is determined affected vehicles will have additional fixation added to secure the glass roof to the vehicle.as an interim measure
Sunroof glass panel may detach
A manufacturing deviation may cause the sunroof panel's adhesive bond to weaken over time, allowing the panel to detach. The adhesive connection between the panel and vehicle body will be reworked.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- SUNROOF GLASS PANEL INSECURE
- Defect
- A deviation in the supplier manufacturing printing process on the glass panel caused may cause a loss of adhesion over vehicle lifetime. This may cause the sunroof panel to detach.
- Remedy
- On affected vehicles rework the adhesive connection between the sunroof panel and the vehicle body.
Handbrake may disengage
Contamination may prevent the handbrake pawl from latching correctly, allowing the handbrake to disengage. The parking brake lever assembly will be replaced.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- HANDBRAKE MAY DISENGAGE
- Defect
- Due to a possible contamination of the tooth segment the handbrake pawl may not latch correctly. This may cause the handbrake to disengage.
- Remedy
- On affected vehicles Replace the parking brake lever assembly.
Driver airbag may not deploy as intended
The driver's airbag may not deploy as intended. The airbag module assembly will be replaced.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- DRIVERS AIRBAG MAY NOT DEPLOY CORRECTLY
- Defect
- The driver's air bag may not deploy as intended
- Remedy
- On affected vehicles replace the airbag module assembly
Steering rack may fracture
The steering rack's toothed section may break under heavy force, such as during slow speed manoeuvring. The rack build date will be checked and racks from the affected batch replaced.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- STEERING RACK MAY FRACTURE
- Defect
- Due to a manufacturing process deviation the toothed rack of the steering gear might break under extensive force application i.e. when manoeuvring at slow speed.
- Remedy
- Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and check the build date of the steering rack. Where the steering rack is proved to be from the affected batch the steering rack will be replaced.
Steering connection may come loose and cause loss of control
The connection between the steering knuckle and lower control arm may be assembled incorrectly and become insecure, potentially making the vehicle uncontrollable. Both sides will be inspected and reassembled correctly where necessary.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- LOSS OF STABILITY
- Defect
- The connection between the steering knuckle and the lower control arm may not be assembled correctly. If this condition is evident the connection could become insecure. The event can happen suddenly and unexpectedly in which case the vehicle is no longer controllable.
- Remedy
- Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and inspect the connection between the steering knuckle and the lower control arm on both sides of the vehicle. Where necessary the connection will be reassembled correctly.
Steering rack gears may crack
Steering rack gears may crack over time, potentially causing loss of steering control. The steering gear assembly will be replaced.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL
- Defect
- The gears within the steering rack may not have been manufactured to the correct specification which may allow them to crack over a period of time. Prolonged use could cause loss of steering control.
- Remedy
- On affected vehicles replace steering gear assembly
Alloy wheels may crack and become insecure
The wheels may crack at high mileages, reducing wheel bolt clamping force and potentially causing a wheel to detach. All four wheels will be replaced.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- 18 INCH ALLOY WHEELS MAY BECOME INSECURE
- Defect
- 18 inch alloy wheels may develop cracking at high mileages in excess of 62000 miles. This may lead to a loss of clamping force at the wheel bolts and in a worse case scenario wheel detachment.
- Remedy
- On affected vehicles replace all four wheels.
Steering intermediate shaft may break
The steering system may not meet specification, and the intermediate shaft could break while driving, causing loss of steering control. Do not drive the vehicle until an intermediate shaft that meets specification has been fitted.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL
- Defect
- THE MANUFACTURER HAS RECOMMENDED THAT AFFECTED VEHICLES ARE NOT DRIVEN UNTIL CHECKED BY THEIR OFFICIAL AGENTS. The steering system may not have been produced according to specification. There is a risk that the steering intermediate shaft may break while driving resulting in the loss of steering control.
- Remedy
- The affected vehicles must not be driven until a new intermediate shaft that does meet the manufacturer's specification has been fitted.
