Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- SPOILER MAY DETACH
- Defect
- The bonding of the tailgate spoiler may not conform to specification. This could lead to a lack of adhesion and detachment of the spoiler
- Remedy
- On affected vehicles replace the rear spoiler
Hydraulic block may allow a wheel to lock
During emergency braking or an ESP regulation phase, the hydraulic block may not prevent a wheel from locking, which could affect vehicle control. Replace the braking system hydraulic block.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- LOSS OF CONTROL
- Defect
- In the event of emergency braking or during an ESP regulation phase (e.g. avoiding manoeuvre) the hydraulic block may not prevent the locking of a wheel which could affect control of the vehicle.
- Remedy
- On affected vehicles replace the braking system hydraulic block
Fuel injector supply rail may leak
The fuel injector supply rail could leak, lowering fuel pressure and affecting the stop-start system. In extreme cases, the engine may not restart and petrol could spray under the bonnet, creating a fire risk. The rail will be checked and replaced if necessary.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- FUEL MAY LEAK
- Defect
- The fuel injectors supply rail could develop a leak over a period of time leading to a drop in fuel pressure which can affect the operation of the stop start system. In some extreme cases the engine might not restart and a spray of petrol under the bonnet may occur which is a fire risk.
- Remedy
- Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected and check the fuel injector supply rail. Where necessary replace the fuel injector supply rail.
Turbocharger oil union bolt may leak
A nonconforming retaining bolt may cause an oil leak at the turbocharger lubrication union, which could damage the engine. The bolt and its seals will be replaced.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- OIL LEAK MAY DAMAGE ENGINE
- Defect
- An oil leak could develop at the turbocharger lubrication union retaining bolt due to a non-conformity of this part.
- Remedy
- On affected vehicles replace the turbocharger lubrication union bolt and its seals.
Fuel may leak if vehicle rolls over
The fuel tank non-return valve may not meet specification, creating a risk of fuel leakage if the vehicle rolls over. Dealers will check the valve and replace the tank if necessary.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- FUEL MAY LEAK IF VEHICLE INVOLVED IN A ROLLOVER INCIDENT
- Defect
- On the affected vehicles the non-return valve located inside the fuel tank may not conform to specification. If the vehicle was to roll over there is a risk of a fuel leak.
- Remedy
- On affected vehicles checking the condition of the valve and replace the tank if necessary.
Front suspension mounting bolts may loosen
Front subframe or suspension wishbone bolts may loosen or fall out, affecting handling and potentially causing loss of control. The bolts will be checked and retorqued.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- DIRECTIONAL CONTROL MAY BE AFFECTED
- Defect
- It is possible that the front subframe and suspension wishbones mounting bolts may not have been torqued to the correct specification. This could result in the mounting bolt working loose and falling from the vehicle plus the possibility of the insecurity of the subframe or the front suspension wishbone. This can cause an issue with the handling or even loss of control of the vehicle.
- Remedy
- Recall all affected vehicles to check and retorque the front subframe and suspension wishbone mounting bolts.
Front subframe mounting may fail
Damage to a front subframe mounting point may worsen over time and cause the mounting to fail, affecting attached components and vehicle control. Excessive noise may occur before failure. The subframe is checked and replaced if necessary.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- VEHICLE CONTROL MAY BE LOST
- Defect
- Front subframes on affected vehicles may show signs of damage to the left hand mounting point caused during the manufacturing process. Over time this may affect durability and cause the mounting to fail. This can affect security of components attached to the subframe and may affect control of the vehicle.
- Remedy
- Prior to failure the driver should notice excessive noise from this area. As a safety measure affected vehicles should be checked and where necessary the subframe replaced.
Tailgate struts may not hold it open
A faulty internal component may prevent the struts from holding the tailgate open, so it may shut without warning. The struts will be tested and both replaced if needed.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- TAILGATE MAY SHUT WITHOUT WARNING
- Defect
- Affected vehicles may have struts with a non compliant internal component. This may prevent the struts from maintaining the tailgate in the open position.
- Remedy
- Non compliant struts are determined by using manufacturer test methods. If replacement is required both struts must be replaced.
Front suspension wishbone bolts may break
Wishbone mounting bolts may not meet specification and could break, causing noise and poor directional control. The front suspension wishbone mounting bolts will be replaced.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- DIRECTIONAL CONTROL MAY BE COMPROMISED
- Defect
- The front suspension wishbone mounting bolts might not have been manufactured to the correct specification potentially causing a risk of these parts breaking. Broken mounting bolts can be noticed by the driver through noises and poor directional control.
- Remedy
- Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to replace the front suspension wishbone mounting bolts.
Fuel rail pipes may leak fuel onto the engine
Incorrectly tightened high-pressure fuel rail pipes may leak fuel onto the engine. If fuel vapour contacts a hot component, an engine bay fire may occur. The pipes will be retorqued.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- FUEL MAY LEAK AND CREATE FIRE RISK
- Defect
- It has been established that the high pressure fuel rail pipes on the engine have not been torqued to the correct specification. This can result in poor sealing of the rail which can cause as fuel leak onto the engine. If the vaporised fuel comes into contact with a hot engine component there can be a risk of an engine bay fire.
- Remedy
- Recall all the affected vehicles and retorque the high pressure fuel rail pipes.
ESP may not respond as intended
A non-conforming ABS/ESP hydraulic block may cause ESP to correct the drive to the wheels inaccurately when activated. ABS and braking efficiency are not affected. The hydraulic block will be replaced.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- ESP MAY NOT OPERATE CORRECTLY
- Defect
- Some vehicles from the affected production batch may have an issue with the effectiveness of the ESP system caused by non-conformity with the ABS/ESP hydraulic block. Consequences: This non-conformity will not affect the operation of the ABS system or the efficiency of the brakes. It may affect the operation of the ESP system on the rare occasions that it is activated; the correction of the drive delivered to the road wheel(s) when the ESP is activated may not be accurate to how it is manufactured to respond.
- Remedy
- The hydraulic ABS/ESP block is to be replaced.
Air in brake system may reduce braking efficiency
Air may remain in the brake system if it was not bled correctly, increasing brake pedal travel and possibly reducing braking efficiency. The brake system will be bled.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- BRAKES MAY FAIL
- Defect
- During production it is possible the brake system may not have been bled correctly and some air may remain in the brake system. This could result in increased brake pedal travel and a possible reduction in braking efficiency.
- Remedy
- Affected vehicles will be recalled to have the brake system bled.
