  1. Coolant hose may detach and cause overheating

Reported March 14, 2007DVSA recall R/2006/192257 vehicles affected

The upper coolant hose may detach, causing coolant loss and engine overheating. A new coolant hose and clamps will be fitted.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    ENGINE MAY OVERHEAT
    Defect
Upper coolant hose may detach causing loss of coolant.
    Remedy
Recall affected vehicles and fit new coolant hose and clamps.
  2. Front brake hose may crack and leak

Reported December 12, 2003Model years 1999–2003DVSA recall R/2003/1644,955 vehicles affected

Incorrectly positioned front brake hoses may be stressed during steering and crack, causing a leak and reduced braking force. Modified brake hoses and brackets will be fitted.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
CRACKS MAY OCCUR ON THE BRAKE HOSE
    Defect
There is a possibility that due to improper fixing position of the front brake hose excessive stress may occur to the hose when continually operated on the steering system. In the worst case cracks may occur on the brake hose which may result in a leak and a reduction in brake force.
    Remedy
Recall affected vehicles to fit modified brake hoses and brackets
  3. Fuel tank may crack from repeated stress

Reported October 31, 2001Model years 1998–2001DVSA recall R/2001/0712,850 vehicles affected

The fuel tank upper panel may crack from repeated stress. The tank will be replaced if cracked; otherwise, a reinforcement plate will be fitted. The check valve will be checked for cracks and relocated.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
POSSIBLE CRACKING OF FUEL TANK AND CHECK VALVE.
    Defect
There is a possibility that the fuel tank upper panel may suffer from fatigue failure due to repeated stress caused by the fuel tank breathing. In addition the Spacerunners will be checked for cracks on the check valve due to interference with the cross member.
    Remedy
If any cracks are apparent the fuel tank will be replaced if no crack is visible a reinforcement plate will be fitted the check valve will be re-located.
  4. Brake booster hose may become blocked

Reported August 24, 2000Model years 1998–1999DVSA recall R/2000/0633,756 vehicles affected

Combustion products may build up and block the brake booster vacuum hose, reducing braking efficiency after repeated pedal use. The hose connection will be moved to prevent this build-up.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    BRAKING EFFICIENCY MAY BE REDUCED
    Defect
The nipple for the brake booster vacuum hose may become choked due to adhesion and accumulation of combustion products from the engine. This may cause in the worst case reduced braking efficiency after operating the brake pedal several times in a short period.
    Remedy
Recall affected vehicles to relocate nipple from intake manifold to resonator to avoid accumulation of combustion products.
