- Component
- VEHICLE MAY ROLL AWAY
- Defect
- It has been identified that the hand brake lever may not have been manufactured to the correct specification. It could result in the vehicle rolling away.
- Remedy
- Recall all affected vehicles and replace the hand brake assembly with a new quality controlled assembly
Handbrake may not work properly
The handbrake may not work properly, which could lead to an accident. The product is being recalled from end users.
Official EU Safety Gate text
- Component
- Injuries
- Defect
- null The handbrake might not work properly which could lead to the risk of an accident.
- Remedy
- Recall of the product from end users
- Notes
- Notified by Greece
Brake servo pipe connector may fail
A brake servo pipe connector may fail and reduce vacuum assistance, so the driver may need to apply more effort when braking. The remedy is to fit a new brake servo pipe.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- BRAKING EFFICIENCY MAY BE REDUCED
- Defect
- A connector on the brake servo pipe may fail and cause a loss of vacuum assistance necessitating the driver to include additional effort when braking.
- Remedy
- Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to fit a new brake servo pipe.
ABS wiring may be damaged and cause a fire
Wiring near the battery holder may become trapped and pinched, exposing or damaging wires and creating a potential fire risk. The wiring will be inspected and repaired using soldered connectors.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- FIRE MAY OCCUR
- Defect
- The layout of the ABS wiring maybe incorrect in the area of the battery holding unit. The wiring may on some vehicles maybe trapped and pinched exposing wiring in some area. this may cause damage and in extreme cases a potential risk of fire.
- Remedy
- Repair to inspect and repair the wiring using industry accepted soldered connectors
Incorrect airbag may deploy in a side impact
A software non-compliance could cause the wrong airbag to deploy in a side impact. A software update will be applied.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- THE WRONG AIRBAG MAY DEPLOY IN A COLLISION
- Defect
- In the case of a side impact the wrong airbag could deploy as a result of a software non-compliance.
- Remedy
- Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to apply a software update.
Steering shaft bolt may be too loose
The steering shaft fixing bolt may not be tightened correctly, causing noise or, in extreme cases, shaft breakage and loss of steering control. The bolt will be checked and tightened if needed; the shaft will be replaced if the torque is outside the specified range.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- STEERING MAY FAIL
- Defect
- It has been identified that the tightening torque of the steering shaft upper fixing bolt may not be correct. This may result in the emission of noise and in extreme cases breakage of the shaft which will result in loss of steering control.
- Remedy
- Recalled vehicles will have the subject bolt checked for correct torque which if necessary will be set to the correct specification. If the torque is outside of the rework stipulated range the shaft will be replaced.
Steering shaft bolt may loosen
The steering shaft fixing bolt may be incorrectly tightened, causing noise or, in extreme cases, shaft breakage and loss of steering control. The bolt will be checked and adjusted; the shaft will be replaced if needed.
Fuel manifold may leak
A fuel manifold may not meet specification and could leak, causing loss of power or the engine to cut out. Inspect the manifold and replace it if it does not meet specification.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- FUEL MAY LEAK FROM MANIFOLD
- Defect
- Fuel may leak as on some engines the fuel manifolds may not be to specification. If the fuel manifold leaks it is possible that a loss of power could occur and the engine cut out.
- Remedy
- Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to inspect the fuel manifold and check it for conformity to specification. Where necessary replace the fuel manifold.
Heater wiring may short circuit
Without a retaining clip, heater or climate control wiring may rub against a dashboard bracket and become damaged, causing an electrical short circuit. The wiring will be inspected, repaired and repositioned if damaged, and a new clip fitted.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- HEATER/CLIMATE CONTROL WIRING ABRASION MAY RESULT IN A SHORT CIRCUIT.
- Defect
- It has been identified that the possibility exists of interference between the heater/climate control wiring and a dashboard bracket due to a missing retainer clip. In this condition abrasion of the wiring may occur with the attendant risk of an electrical short circuit
- Remedy
- Recalled vehicles will be inspected for damage to the subject wiring which if this has occurred will be repaired and repositioned. In all cases a new clip will be fitted.
Brake hoses may restrict fluid flow
Brake hoses may be incorrectly vulcanised and restrict brake fluid flow, reducing braking efficiency. The hoses will be checked and affected ones replaced.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- BRAKES MAY FAIL
- Defect
- Due to the possibility of a fault in the production process the flexible rubber brake hoses may not have been correctly vulcanised. As a consequence may partially or totally restrict the internal flow of the brake hydraulic fluid. Should this happen a reduction in efficiency during braking would occur.
- Remedy
- Recalled vehicles will have the hoses checked to identify if they are within the affected batch. If this is the case they will be replaced with quality assured items.
Steering column may disconnect
Incorrect flaring at the end of the steering shaft may allow the steering column to disconnect from the upper universal joint, causing loss of steering. The shaft will be inspected and renewed if necessary.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- STEERING COLUMN MAY BECOME DISCONNECTED
- Defect
- Incorrect profile (flaring) of the end of the steering shaft at the upper steering column universal joint. This may give the possibility of the steering column becoming disconnected from the universal joint with a consequent loss of vehicle steering.
- Remedy
- Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to inspect the profile and flaring of the end of the steering shaft at the upper universal joint and where necessary renew the shaft.
Crankshaft pulley may break and cause power loss
The crankshaft pulley for the ancillary devices may break, causing loss of engine power and possibly power steering and braking assistance. The pulley will be inspected and replaced if needed.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- ENGINE POWER MAY BE LOST
- Defect
- It is possible that breakage of the ancillary devices pulley on the crankshaft may occur. Should this happen there is the possibility that engine power and functions such as power assisted steering and braking assistance may be lost.
- Remedy
- Recalled vehicles will have the crankshaft pulley inspected and changed should this be necessary.
Fuel vapour pipe may contact the compressor pulley
The fuel vapour recirculation pipe may rub against the air-conditioning compressor pulley, damaging the pipe and creating a fire risk. The pipe will be repositioned away from the pulley.
Official DVSA recall text
- Component
- FUEL VAPOUR RE- CIRCULATION PIPE MAY BECOME DAMAGED
- Defect
- The fuel vapour re-circulation pipe could foul against the air-conditioning compressor pulley resulting in possible damage to the pipe and the risk of fire.
