  1. Brake assistance may be reduced

Reported April 13, 2009Model years 2007–2008DVSA recall R/2009/028200 vehicles affected

At high altitude, just after starting and at low engine speed, low vacuum may make the brake pedal stiff and require more effort to stop. An electric vacuum pump will be fitted to supplement the engine vacuum system.

REDUCTION OF BRAKING ASSISTANCE MAY OCCUR
    Defect
Brake pedal could be stiff to depress requiring more input from the driver to stop as a result of insufficient brake assistance caused by low vacuum at low engine speed while at high altitude immediately after starting.
    Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to fit an electric vacuum pump to supplement the engine vacuum system.
  2. Brake hoses may restrict fluid flow

Reported December 7, 2007Model years 2007DVSA recall R/2007/1743,435 vehicles affected

Brake hoses may be incorrectly vulcanised and restrict brake fluid flow, reducing braking efficiency. Hoses will be checked and affected ones replaced.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    BRAKES MAY FAIL
    Defect
Due to the possibility of a fault in the production process the flexible rubber brake hoses may not have been correctly vulcanised. As a consequence may partially or totally restrict the internal flow of the brake hydraulic fluid. Should this happen a reduction in efficiency during braking would occur.
    Remedy
Recalled vehicles will have the hoses checked to identify if they are within the affected batch. If this is the case they will be replaced with quality assured items.
  3. Power take-off unit may leak oil and seize

Reported July 27, 2007Model years 2005–2007DVSA recall R/2007/0921,830 vehicles affected

An oil leak from the power take-off unit may cause it to seize, with possible loss of vehicle control. Sealant will be applied to the core plug and a retaining clip fitted.

    Component
    POSSIBLE LOSS OF VEHICLE CONTROL
    Defect
Oil may leak from the Power Take Off Unit which may cause the unit to seize and possible loss of vehicle control.
    Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to apply sealant to the core plug and to fit a retaining clip.
  4. Missing heat shield may damage brake servo pipe

Reported April 18, 2007Model years 2006DVSA recall R/2007/04751 vehicles affected

A missing or incorrectly fitted heat shield may damage the brake servo pipe and reduce brake assistance. The reflective sheath will be correctly fitted.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    BRAKING EFFICIENCY WILL BE REDUCED
    Defect
A reflective heat shield may be incorrectly fitted or missing. This could lead to the servo pipe being damaged and the loss of brake servo assistance.
    Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to ensure correct fitment of the reflective sheath.
