Reported March 26, 2010Model years 2007–2010DVSA recall R/2010/025482 vehicles affected

The tyre sidewall may crack, causing loss of inflation pressure and potentially affecting safe handling. The affected tyres will be replaced.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    TYRE SIDEWALL MAY CRACK
    Defect
It has been identified that Pirelli tyre type 215/40 ZR18 89W PZERO NERO annotated MO and F223 may suffer cracking of the sidewall. This can lead to loss of inflation pressure and under certain conditions can have an adverse effect on the safe handling of the vehicle.
    Remedy
Recalled vehicles will have the subject tyres replaced.
  2. Brake hoses may restrict fluid flow

Reported December 7, 2007Model years 2007DVSA recall R/2007/1743,435 vehicles affected

Brake hoses may be incorrectly vulcanised and restrict brake fluid flow, reducing braking efficiency. Hoses will be checked and affected ones replaced.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    BRAKES MAY FAIL
    Defect
Due to the possibility of a fault in the production process the flexible rubber brake hoses may not have been correctly vulcanised. As a consequence may partially or totally restrict the internal flow of the brake hydraulic fluid. Should this happen a reduction in efficiency during braking would occur.
    Remedy
Recalled vehicles will have the hoses checked to identify if they are within the affected batch. If this is the case they will be replaced with quality assured items.
  3. Fuel hose may chafe and leak

Reported August 10, 2007Model years 2005–2006DVSA recall R/2007/0821,780 vehicles affected

The hose between the diesel filter and high-pressure pump may chafe on the filter housing and leak fuel, creating a risk of an engine compartment fire. The hose routing will be checked and a bracket fitted; a damaged hose will also be replaced.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    POSSIBILITY OF FIRE
    Defect
There is a possibility that the fuel hose from the diesel filter to the high pressure pump may chafe on the fuel filter housing. In time this could result in a fuel leak and the possibility of an engine compartment fire.
    Remedy
Recalled vehicles will have the routing of the hose checked at which time if the hose is not damaged a new bracket will be fitted to prevent chafing. If the hose is damaged it will be replaced in addition a new bracket will be fitted.
  4. Clutch pedal connecting pin clip may detach

    CLUTCH MAY FAIL
    Defect
On a number of RHD ALfa Romeo 147 and GT models there is a possibility that the clip which secures the connecting pin between the clutch cylinder and the clutch pedal may become detached resulting in loss of clutch operation.
    Remedy
Recalled vehicles will be fitted with a redesigned retaining clip.
  5. Braking efficiency may be reduced with space saver spare

Reported September 19, 2006Model years 2004–2006DVSA recall R/2006/1287,900 vehicles affected

The vehicle dynamic control system may not work properly with a space saver spare fitted, potentially reducing braking efficiency during hard braking. The remedy is to fit an electronic control unit with upgraded software.

    Official DVSA recall text
    Component
    BRAKING EFFICIENCY MAY REDUCE
    Defect
The Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) system does not operate properly when the space saver spare wheel is fitted. This could lead to the VDC warning lamp operating and may lead to reduced braking efficiency if the brakes are vigorously applied.
    Remedy
Recall the vehicles that are likely to be affected to fit a new VDC electronic control unit that has upgraded software installed.
  6. Fuel tank recirculation pipe flange may crack

Reported May 23, 2005DVSA recall R/2005/0301,730 vehicles affected
