Green indicators

Trailer connected

What it means

This is a status indicator showing that a trailer or trailer electrical connection has been detected. Green usually signals an active or normal status, but colour and what triggers it vary by manufacturer.

What the symbol looks like: A trailer outline or trailer symbol indicates that the vehicle has detected a connected trailer; the exact symbol varies by model.

Why it comes on

  • A trailer plug is connected to the vehicle socket
  • The vehicle has detected trailer lighting or wiring
  • A trailer recognition setting has been enabled

What to do

  1. Check that the trailer is correctly coupled and secured.
  2. Test the trailer lights and indicators before setting off.
  3. Check mirrors and allow extra room for turning and braking.
  4. If no trailer is attached, inspect the socket for moisture or damage and consult the manual.

Can I keep driving?

You can drive when the trailer is correctly coupled, its lights work, and the vehicle is set up for towing. Avoid towing if the connection is faulty or the trailer is not secure.

Symbols and colours differ between makes and models. Your owner’s manual shows the exact lights of your car.
